Watching Roddick vs Murray on Wimbledon Championship on the little telly in my bedroom. They're on a tie game now but I want Roddick to win so badly. Though he has some temperament whilst playing; remember him cursing to the umpire on the Australian Open? Hilarious shit. I guess that (plus his awesomely good looks) made him one of the hottest+top tennis player <3

Lex L is going back to Singapore tomorrow, so we're (Sarah V and I) are bringing him to watch the sunrise at Bondi Beach at 6am later.

Update on me so far: Learning Korean now. Yes, my holidays have been quite productive after all. Like seriously. 3 very kind Korean friends of mine have taught me. It isn't that difficult, just need to memorise the alphabets. Hence, the constant viewing of K-Dramas, K-Movies and K-Songs.
After 7 K-Movies, now watching a drama called I AM SAM. Yes yes, I am merely watching because of T.O.P. (Rapper from Big Bang, my second fav member after Seung Ri baby!) is also starring in it. And after this try My name is Kim Sam Soon :):)

Apologies for the extremely late late post. Yesh, I know it has been a week since I've finished my final exams. Fingers crossed for the results! It's coming out on the 10th July. I so need someone to be beside me when the results are out so I can slap/punch that person. The exams weren't easy I can tell you. The worst part is that we won't get back our papers so how are we supposed to know what mistakes we've done @.@

So what I've been doing since the end of exams.
Most of you have already known that Sarah and I went to Canberra; visiting the ANU people. Yesh, had heaps of fun. The people there are much different from the ones in Sydney.

It was funny how we barely made it to Central Station (where we departed for our destination). Legal paper finished at 4pm. I immediately ran out of the exam hall, met Sarah and quickly walked to my car. It was bloody raining cats and dogs. And faced a major congestion whilst getting out of Randwick Racecourse (exam place). Reached home, packed my luggage and left the house at 5.30pm!! We were supposed to depart at 6pm from Central Station. And at 5.30pm went and picked up Sarah. Rushed to Central Station, my heart was beating at a slightly more than average rate cos I was having the fear that the bus might have left already. We reached the station at exactly 6pm. Luckily, the bus hadn't departed yet. As expected almost all the seats on board were taken so Sarah and I had to sit separately. FOR BLOODY 3 hours and 30 minutes. My ass was so numb I tell yahh. Plus hunger and boredom, I barely slept on the bus. Couldn't wait to reach the destinations.

Canberra was like you can call it a kampung: Very few tall buildings. Only one shopping mall. No people on the streets. Very very cold. And everywhere from UniLodge (our accommodation) was just a mere 10 minutes walk away.

Met with with RongXuan aka Shane from SSC and Sarah's friend from JC, Rachelle. From them, we met more new friends. Had potluck party, visited ANU, watched the sunset at a beautiful lake, played Wii etc. Overall we had an amazing time.

Besides the fact that I've got tons of assignments and presentation due next week (and mind you I've just started uni last week), uni's been pretty good to me. Oh, not to mention that each textbooks cost more than $100! And I got myself a Law textbook, $ 116. Super 心痛！3 textbooks to go T.T Couldn't buy second hand books cos earlier editions are not allowed @.@

Second job; First in Sydney

I'm working at Mamak. Yes, you got that right :):) It sounds wrong if you work in a Mamak in Malaysia. Not in Sydney though. Mamak is a restaurant in Chinatown, on Goulburn St. During peak hours, you gotta queue up for at least 20 minutes. There wasn't a time when we didn't queue whenever we went there for dinner.

After going through an interview last Thursday with the 3 bosses. One of them called me up, asking me to go for a trial for about 4 weeks. I already went once; yesterday. It wasn't THAT bad except the part where I had to memorize the table numbers, abbreviations when taking orders, stacking up plates and bowls when clearing tables etc etc.

The worst part was, I couldn't make the dough! (for the roti) Not even one T.T The others tried to teach me so many times but failed. Omg.

Day 1 of Uni Life

9 am- Accounting tutorial
Was 5 minutes late when I walked into my very first tutorial this morning. Accounting tutorial. My tutor, was surprisingly young. Like a 22 or 23 year old, could be a Honours/Masters student. And by the time I arrived, most of my classmates had already introduced themselves. I said 'Sorry I'm late. My name is Christine and I'm from Malaysia and I've been in Sydney for the past year' Then I saw some smiles from some friendly girls.

As expected, there was only one white boy. Though I believed most of the Asians in my class were born and bred in Sydney. Hence, their accent.

Break for 4 hours.

2 pm- Economics lecture
The crowd of students outside the Law Theatre were building up massively. I was one of them, waiting outside Law Theatre for this lecture. By the time we got in, there weren't enough enough for Sarah and I to sit as together. So we had to split up. I swear I could not understand my lecturer's accent. It was like Italian/Greek/Spanish/some weird Middle Eastern accent. When the lecture finally finished, I told Sarah, 'I cannot understand a thing she just said. Let's change lecture'

Break for 3 hours [If you've just realized, we had 7 hours of break time in total!! XD]
And this was how we killed the time; eating cakes @ 85 degree Celsius bakery shop.

Sarah made me laughed at least 10 times today

6pm- Quantitative Methods A Lecture [QMA]
Omg, what a terrible way to end my first day of university. Like before, people were already crowding outside Law Theatre (again!) for this lecture. As students were settling down, the lecturer suddenly yelled "Now do you have any consideration for other people?! You want to be in my class, SHUT UP!" (in a very thick Aussie accent) Honestly, I was so terrified by his first words for us. Immediately, the whole theatre was in pin drop silent situation. His name was John Ablett, or rather, Dr. John Ablett. I looked at the clock hung by the side of the theatre for at least 15 times. Those 2 hours were definitely slow. And what's worse than not understanding QMA for the first lecture. Hardship, here I come!!

BOYCOTT RTA!!♦

The following is my complaint letter to the RTA (Roads and Transport Authority and not that they'd cared to reply me anyways):

To whom it may concerned,

I am a Temporary Resident of NSW and I just took a driving test this morning at a RTA office in Maroubra. I passed the test and could be given a Green P licence (I have held my Malaysian licence for 18 months). To my dismay, I was not eligible to be given the licence as my last entry into Australia was on the 21^st of February 2009. I would like to argue that I was in fact in Australia for six continuous months prior taking my DKT test (Arrived Australia on the 17^th March 2008 at that time).

According to your website, http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/visitorstonsw/gettingnswlicence.html quoted ‘As a temporary overseas visitor, you will only be eligible to apply for a NSW licence once you have been in Australia for a continuous period of at least six months immediately prior to licence application.’ This policy has some ambiguities as the term ‘licence application’ was not specific enough. This term could be the process of applying a licence which starts from taking a DKT test. It did not specify that I should be in Australia for six continuous months before I could be issued with a licence.

Moreover, I tried applying for the driving test immediately after my DKT test which was done on the 17^th December 2008. Unfortunately, there were no available times until February 2009. By then, I had already booked my air ticket for me to go back to my home country on the 23^rd December 2008.

So six months from now, not only I have to sit for another driving test in which I have actually passed this morning, but to pay $44 again for the test due to this vague policy of RTA. I hope you take this into consideration to re-evaluate this part of your policy. If you need proof that I will be staying here in Australia for the next six months, I would gladly show the RTA my proof confirmation of an enrolled student in the University of New South Wales.

Watched this movie called Ip Man @ Cineleisure.

At first, I didn't know what the hell is this Ip Man. Friends of mine called it I.P. Man. And the only abbreviation i know of I.P is 'Intellectual Property'. They claimed it was a good movie.
Hence, dragging Yi Cheng along, we watched this Ip Man since I had already watched all the other worth watching movies earlier in Sydney & Singapore while KinKin, ChiChun and Shoby watched the Yes Man.

OMG OMG OMG THIS MOVIE WAS SO GREAT/COOL/AWESOME/FANTASTIC

Donnie Yen, the main actor was so superb and kudos to Sammo Hung for the fight choreography. Both Yi Cheng and I yelled 'OMG' or 'oh shit' like 1000 times in this movie. Adrenaline rushing.

There was this one scene, where Ip Man was shot out of the blue. I shouted 'oh shit!!!' and Yi Cheng screamed 'oh my god!!' even louder than me. LOL Needless to mention, people were staring at us for being so dramatic. Damn hilarious man.

To conclude, it was the best Kung Fu movie watched in a very long time.

I watched this last night; I didn't really comprehend the whole story plot. I blame on the heavily English accent. Well, it's an English movie alright. Likewise, I didn't really understand Rock And Rolla. Maybe because of me, coming from Malaysia, was so accustomed by the subtitles provided in the local theatres. Hence, expected explanations awaits from Arvind everytime we watched a movie in here in Sydney. And with him not around, Wikipedia was the solution C:

I had a dream, seemed so real; that's why I still could remember it. Dunno somewhere sometime, I was with Robert Pattinson. He came to me, knowing I had been staring at him for too long that he voluntarily took a photo with me. Must've been at his movie red carpet premiere. I was too stunned. Too stunned that no words came out from my ~~big~~ mouth. And I proudly posted that photo as my primary photo on FaceBook.

Sighh, dreams shall remain as dreams.

And the enviousness towards to that girl who got to kiss robert in the movie grows. *grins

YumCha @ Addison Hotel. It's amazing how after so long this restaurant opened so long, we finally had a go with this place which is like the nearest eatery to UniLogde. Fortunately, the food WASN'T that bad. Acceptable, except the part where we had to wait for the food to arrive.

I saw this when I was at Taronga Zoo the other day with my friends.

Is there a word more powerful than the word 'cute'? Cos this little thing here is just beyond cute!

So while admiring this animal at the zoo, I asked my fellow friends why its name is called Red Panda. [Besides the fact that it also feeds on bamboo leaves]

Me: It looks more like a cat
Arvind: Well, maybe a panda fucked a red cat and ended up like this.

Question to wonder: Why all super cute animals are getting endangered/in the midst of being extinct?

E.g.: Panda bears, red panda, slow loris [which i personally got to pet when in Sandakan!!], polar bear, white tiger and all other little cutie animals whose names are just kinda weird.

WOWOWOW.

Finally, after months and months of hard work, exams have finally completed! (last Thursday)
Phew, I can gladly claim that I tried my best doing those exams from one paper to another. Highest confidence: English! *fingers crossed* results will be out on the second week of Dec.

Anyways, have been spending some quality time with my close friends: from watching Bond to going to Fish Market to seeing animals in zoo. Memories have been made.

For most of you who are wondering, I'd only be back to KL on the 29th Dec. Yes, I know it's just 2 days away from the new year but hey, I wanna work and earn $. And then the guilty pleasure wouldn't be THAT guilty anymore: SHOPPING. (Aiya, why the ringgit value depreciates lah..)

BAD NEWS IS: The current economic status globally= RECESSION. People who study economics should know that the effects of this 'phenomenon:

Okay, dammit, my economics lessons are coming back to my mind again.

So, even since before the exams started, I initiated a job hunt. First in Westfield, Eastgardens. Kinda lost count on the number of shops I went in and submitted my resume. But till today, NO REPLIES! [Note: if you don't wanna hire people, do not put up the notice for vancancies!]
Bummer right; considering the fact that I have prior experience working in Big Apple [nightmare] and I ALREADY BOOKED MY AIR TICKET. I mean, what am I gonna do if I ain't got job? 1 month@home =.=

Greater Union theatre on George St. Yesh, the X-Files 2: I Want To Believe has nothing to do with ghosts/spirits/alien etc, surprisingly. Got to do with psychic though. The 2 main characters still looked the same. Didn't really age [ie Mulder and Scully]

Some 2 dudes actually made a scene in the cinema. Shouting at each other. Think they had a fight outside the cinema afterwards. Interrupting the show. Bastards.

Before that, we went to Apple Store which was also on George St. Omg the Apple building was so mesmerising. So pretty.

was I heard when I was shading my last answer on the multiple choice paper. Two papers have finished and I had insufficient time to double check my answers; TWICE.
Let's hope it wouldn't be the same for tomorrow's legal studies.

I guess I'm not used to the new timing for each paper. Besides English, all the other subjects are just 1.5 hours. Back in the SPM days where most of the subjects were minimum 2 hours.
And I don't like the head of invigilator. I think she's kinda prejudice towards the boy sitting in front of me. Apart from scolding him yesterday, she penalized him today because he was still shading his last few answers when she announced that we had to put our pens down.

Really hope she doesn't become my new Math lecturer/tutor in Sem 2 :X

Yeah, went for a volunteer work at my school yesterday. It was called the Red Shirt volunteer. 6 including myself from my class and a few more from other classes participated. Needless to say, the main reason on why we joined was to get our hands on the free food. Surprisingly, the food was GOOD. Damn satay was deliciousss. Yumyum.

It was kinda fun I guess. Cept that part where we had to walk from lower campus to upper campus [twice!] Showed these newbies around the area like where the lectures area held etc.

So we made friends with a lot of people. Majority are still from China. Hong Kong, not many. Introduced myself to a Korean, Japanese, Vietnameses, Indonesians and Russian.

Here's a random conversation I had with this Russian dude, Alex.

Me: Hey, how do you say 'My name is Christine in Russian'?

Alex: Christina.

Me: REALLY?? THAT'S SHORT :S

So I once had a friend. Not a close one though. Fine, I shall categorize her as my 'acquaintance' when I was in primary school. I did not like her, and I guess that was ok cos not many people liked her as well. Well, it's kinda common sense that people don't like a person due to his/her attitude. 'Thanks' to FaceBook, she found me, and I wasn't sure if that was a good news. Reluctantly, I clicked accept.
Then one day when I logged in, where the homepage showed all the latest updates and what not, I read what she wrote on a friend's wall. That friend was from the same school as the both of us as well.
This was what she wrote:

"hey is ur LV bag original or fake?...coz the white one looks really really really fake...lol...im an LV fanatic so im very observant"

Of course, the first impression I had on that question of hers was like wtf? Initially, when I viewed her profile, her so-called shout out would be 'cant wait to get more LV bags n Dior sunnies.' Immediately, I knew that she was the most materialistic person I've ever encountered in my life. Apart from smoking ciggies giving the 'omg, i'm so dumb even though i'm not blond look' she also posed with Gucci paper bags in public toilet to avoid embarrassment in one of her profile photos.

It's so ironic when back in the days, she asked me 'Eh, I really have to pay your mom back for lunch ah?' And I kinda remember her calling me a bitch cos I asked a mutual friend to ask her for my money back she owed me. I'm really okay with people borrowing money from me, but if it was habitual and not returning it voluntarily, it's a big NONO.

If one day I bumped into her which I definitely hope it would not happen, seeing she carrying her precious Gucci/LV, I would ask her 'Wah you strike lottery ah?' and walk off.

Advice, get a life. Use it, trust me. You'll thank me.
Seriously despise LV worshipping people.

I had a terrible 'nightmare' last night. Woke up twice in the night. That means two different nightmares in a night.

Nightmare no.1

Mr Austin, my form 5 Science teacher, was very very very with me in the class. LIKE REAL ANGER. It happened in the my 5 Omega 'o7. I think I offended him and he took it really seriously. Which is a true nightmare cos in real life, that won't likely to happen [He offended me all the time] LIKE EVER. If you were my classmate, you should know better.

He taught us more than just Science. He invented the word 'sexercise'

I helped a kidnap case to take place. And the victim was my younger friend who was about 7 or 8 years my junior. That's like a 11 year old girl. I'm not gonna elaborate it on it cos it would sound really silly. Of course, I felt horrible after that.

I ~~hate~~ dislike Maths. Period.
Speaking of the most important fundamental in the commerce stream. Sigh.

It's just too many of them you know. It'll do nothing but to drive you insane.

And it took like hours for me to solve this really really difficult question.[like I said, I dislike Math] But proudly to say, I managed to answer it without my sis help! [that is if that's the right answer?] Credits: Google.

Hot Easy Way to soothe my mind? Fyi, Easy Way is quite popular here in Sydney, especially among students. Specialized in bubble milk tea. You really could see students holding one of those plastic cup of iced bubble tea in my foundation building almost everyday.

Anyways... I'm so not prepared for this test this coming Tuesday. Although it's not assessable, I'm still quite very nervous about it. It covers like 26 lectures; that's 32 topics. Shiiit. I guess my class people's so-called academic intelligence would be judged from this test. Cos this is our very first test. ~~Or maybe I'd just fail it and surprise them during the real exams~~.

So I've decided to attend the consultation which starts from 8am tomorrow! Ahh. And my lecture only starts at 11pm XD Guess I'll be the only one in my batch going for it. Gahh, at least I'm making an effort to score a better understanding towards my weakest subject. At the eleventh hour, unfortunately.

The death toll in Sichuan province has reached up to 25 000 people.
And shortly before that, Burma's cyclone's has taken 100 000 lives.

That's 125, 500 souls vanished on Earth. And figure is only the minimum number. There could be more.

I was watching the prime time news yesterday evening. They broad casted a video of someone taking in Sichuan airport. It was horrible. Just absolutely horrible. You could actually see those terrified people's faces. Calling their love ones and hear them screamed their lungs out. Imagine if you were there, praying so hard that your previous life would not be taken. You don't wanna die. Just not today.
7.8 magnitude of earthquake. Even my classmate whose from China said that her friend who lives in Henan [10 hours train ride from Sichuan, could feel that vibrations of the quake]

Soldiers, fire fighters, rescuers were all helping to pull out those unlucky ones. One by one, the buried students were rescued by the heroes. And before that, they were learning something in school. They learnt a new word. They were happy. Playing with friends. And next thing you know, lives are taken away.

Lives were lost. Tears were shed.
I feel you, China.

What if I was one of them. One of those unfortunate victims. I could be stuck under the collapsed building, crying for help, grasping for air, thirsted for water, hunger for food. I could be.

My heart sunk when this CNN correspondent interviewed a survivor of this catastrophe. He was a guy in his early 40's helping the other victims though he had been through enough. As his tears were flowing down, he revealed that he has lost his parents, wife and children in this horrible freak of nature. And before the correspondent could ask him another question, the guy just took off after he received his emergency call on his walkie talkie.

The newscaster also said this 'As China only allows a one child family policy, the parents of the victims have lost that one and only child.' Imagine that, people.

The class which won the 'Cleanest Class' award every week consecutively and eventually won the Cleanest Class of the year 2007. The teachers liked us. Other classes envied us. We had it all. I wonder how is everyone doing.

Thankfully, I wasn't the victim of this horrible incident. I'd be damned if I was so careless. I just don't get the fact that why these people have to steal. It's not like they can't afford to buy their own iPods, cellphones and what not. I guess it's just the thrill of manage to get it without being caught. This seems nostalgic. Reminds me of high school. Yesh, Sri KL. Bad memories.

Anyways, I joined the Friday's sport; Basketball! :D Kinda dragged Calista along XD But hey! It'd be fun. I guess I just wanted to sweat myself since I have not been doing some exercise from day one here in Sydney. [I DON'T WANNA LOOK OUT OF SHAPE WHEN I GET BACK TO M'SIA!] Btw, my team name is CHUM BUCKET! HAHA, sounds kinda cute. Hehe. So.. Calista and I would be shopping for sports pants tomorrow after uni! Gahh, I left all my sports attire back in M'sia =.=" Who knew I would actually be playing sports here. Paid $5 for the whole season. Kinda compulsory to play every Friday after school. Which in a way is good the fact that I wouldn't feel guilty for not exercising regularly [after all those blood, sweat and tears working out in gym in M'sia T.T]

Those were the days when I used to play basketball in Form 1 and 2. As a self-acclaimed 'tomboy' then, I remember I was the only girl hanging out at the basketball court near my house watching those bballers playing. I think it was almost everyday that I cycled to the court with Lim, GYC, CHS, CKS and Ann Kiat. Didn't play much though. The guys wouldn't allow or rather'd mind. Couldn't really blame them though. It'd be weird playing with a whole bunch of guys. I remember one of them telling me, 'Excuse me, only boys can play la. Later you play then you say we touch you then how?' Sigh.
Well, time has changed and now I'd be playing with the girl team! YAY. We're so gonna win that championship at the end of the year.

Moods that take me and erase me

Today, I had a very 'crampy' lunch with 11 people [Brian, Arvind, Beverly, Auston, Stephen, Qi Ying, Charlynn, Julian, Calista, Jacqueline, Alan] I had never eaten with so many people on one table except during for weddings. Fellow coursemates. Wished Sebastian could've joined us. Hope he's doing fine back in Malaysia. Haven't got the chance to intro him to Alan too! [His so-called lookalike twin] Seriously.

And today was expectionally cold. It felt like 10 degrees celcius. Wearing a thin jacket, I waited for the damn bus for an hour, literally shivering, with my feet feeling so numb; so regretful wearing flip-flops] After Calista waited with me for half an hour, she went home. I felt bad that she had to accompany me so I just asked her to take the next bus home in the city. 5 minutes after she left, Julian Lee [my senior from sri kl] came by! It was fun. Went on a cruise with Beverly, QiYing and Julian. And met Stephen there. 35 bucks for a spectacular view on a cruise wasn't that bad after all. The boat made one round and went under the Harbour Bridge and saw pretty scenes of the city and Opera House at night.

Cross that, that's just a metaphorical term I used to describe my feelings right now.
For some of you know do not know, my class consists of 16 people. (It was 14 yesterday but 2 newbies joined in today) Unfortunately, that's not a good news either. I mean, all my life I always had a theory that the more the merrier regardless of whether it's in class, party, outings or whatsover. But I guess that has changed in this case.

I feel like I'm a total social outcast among my classmates in my current class here at UFY, UNSW. Out of 16, there's only 3 Malaysians and the rest are from China. Even the 2 other Malaysians can understand/speak Mandarin fluently [they should be from Chinese school]. I'm not saying that I'm a banana. I just can't catch up with their conversations with their fast paced accent. Sometimes, when they laugh about things I don't understand, I just smile pretending that I actually know what they're saying. I might even request to change class if not because I'm trying to be optimistic about this matter and that I could actually improve on my Mandarin and Canto by the end of the semester. So ironic yeah, the fact the people actually go to Australia to improve on their English skills. Not Mandarin.
No wonder they have the notice everywhere "SPEAK ENGLISH ONLY ON CAMPUS"

Before the course commenced, I had no idea this would take place. Cos it supposed to be like students who took April intake [standard program] should have an 'higher than average' English proficiency level or some sort. Guess not =X
And it's so challenging to perform group tasks cos I literally had to translate for my group mates each and every word during English tutorial; from English to Mandarin. Mind you this is only the first week. 35 weeks to go!

Damn, it feels like China here; and I'm not saying like it's a bad thing.

So.. I attended my enrolment today @ my uni; UNSW. As expected there were so so so so so really really really many students from HongKong chit chatting with their own groups in their own language. Luckily, I met Charlynn, whom I never met for about 7 years since Std 4. Small world huh? And we collected our textbooks,had briefing about our foundation year program and bla bla bla. Ooh, we also did our Student ID card that looks kinda cool.

So for the past two weeks here in Sydney, I've tried many things in order to prevent myself from rotting at home. Besides playing the uber cool and interesting CSI on Xbox, I had done baking! That's right, I baked a cake. Carrot cake that is :) which apparently turned out to be one of my best bakings to far. Almost flawless, I'd say. LOL, I'm stating this based on several people's honest opinions XD Worth the 4 hours effort.

Hmm, what else, oh and I also spent some time on Youtube watching House of Mahjong. Hilarious characters. Especially when you've got Wong Chi Wah in it. Well, I also watched Kungfu Mahjong 3. I guess I'm just watching some of these since now I've understood how to play.. MAHJONG. Yay, still not that good la but still, I'd understand the plot of those mahjong movies much better now :)

Just went to Officeworks yesterday to buy some supplies for my uni and wow, it just blew me away. One normal 0.7 mm G2 Pilot was priced at AUS$ 4 something! Close to 5 if I'm not mistaken. And that's RM 13 to 14?? What's worse is that Officeworks is supposed to sell at the lowest prices compared to anywhere else. Insanity I'll tell ya. And uni hasn't even started yet. Damn, I should've brought mine from M'sia if I knew.

And after 16 days, I'm finally back. Just came back from the airport.
The weather there was weird.
Perth was really really hot. You could actually feel the UV ray penetrating into your skin. Yeah, that bad.
And Sydney was like raining almost everyday.
Well, didn't do much shopping there. It was so frustrating to multiple every price you see by 3 times! Gah.
Sent my bro off in this super uber cool high school in Perth. His school's chapel [like an assembly hall, has this marvellous view of the sea] and it's a gazillion times better than srikl :p
Then took domestic flight to Sydney and stayed at my Sis place.
Spent the first day of CNY playing Wii and baked mandarin orange cake with family =D
Hmm, the daily routine I had was to watch recorded Friends and played CSI on Xbox. Nice.

That was the exact advice my dad gave when I told him how horrible my first day of training was as a member of the service crew in Big Apple donuts. Yesh, just like all the other school goers, I do wake up at 6.30am every morning for this. In 1Utama!! So far, I've completed 3 days of training and tomorrow would be my final one (thank goodness!)
Just imagine this scenario where you have to

Stand 9 hours/day and the only place you could sit is on the toilet bowl.
Be under the spotlight and be very near the boiling oil
Be having communication barrier with your co-workers [most of them are Indons and Vietnameses!]
Get scoldings from customers for something you have no idea of and not responsible about it
Accidently over-charged a customer for a dozen donuts! [damn, the touch screen cash register is so sensitive alright]

Those were my experience I've gotten throughout the first three days of training. And what's worse than working on a public holiday. THE CROWDDD.... It was just plain chaotic. Hello, they're just donuts. DONUTS! They're nothing but oil and sugar. And customers would line up for at least half an hour just for it. Sigh. [And suddenly Malaysians are having the urge to be Homer Simpson]

So I'll blog about the four worst customer-related experiences.

Day 1

After standing for more than 5 hours, I serviced a man's order. He's about mid-50's who had a face that showed no desire for friendliness from the staff @ Big Apple. Obviously, he just wanted donuts.

Him

Hello Sir, welcome to Big Apple. *smiles*

*Stays silent while just browsing through the donuts*

Ok, I'll get a half a dozen.

Sure Sir.

*Grabs a box half dozen*

*Puts in the donuts into the box when he points it*

While halfway putting in the donuts, he said

I thought I told you one dozen?

But Sir, I heard you said *Cuts in and says* I SAID ONE DOZEN!! *in a very hostile manner*

I got so pissed. duhh.

Day 2

When it came to his turn, [this mid 40's customer] I was his cashier. Here's how it works as a cashier.

Press half a dozen or a dozen
Then key in all the types of donuts the customer's buying
Total the amount
Receives the payment
Closes the donut box
Puts in a plastic bag

So when I closed his box and wanted to put in a plastic bag, he said:

Shouldn't you close the box first before you handle the payment? It's more hygenic right? *With the look of you-better-agree-with-me-before-I-turn-into-a-spitfire*

Erm, erm, yeah, so sorry Sir.

*Walks away like the sorry was for nothing*

Duhhh. He obviously saw me keying in all the types the donuts into the comp. If I closed the box, how the hell would I know what to key in the names of the donuts?!?!

Besides, I barely touched this stupid donuts. I just merely closed his box! There's a big difference between closing the box and touching the donuts. Sighh.

Day 3

Wow, today was the worst as it was a public holiday.

1st incident

A man was going to pay and I was the cashier again. As usual I needed to see what was his donut. He bought another separate donut and his maid already took it so I couldn't see what type of donut it was.

Erm, Sir, what donut is that?

Without looking at me, he said

I dunno. I'm not the one selling. And just ignores me.

OMG.

Sir, I need to know.. My indon collegue cuts in and said it was a moonraker. Thank goodness.

2nd incident

It was a lady's turn. While keying in the info, she asked me

Eh, why do you entertain people who cuts line ah? *With a sour face*

Oh really? Erm, you should've informed me about that and I'd not have entertained him and asked him to queue up.

*Gives me that 'look'*

You should be more observant and avoid all these things from happening. *Acting like she's my boss*

Oh, sorry miss. We're kinda short-handed today *smiles* [tho the fact is that all our staff were present]

And I was talking to myself in my heart:

Hello lady, I have to service 100+ incoming customers and all I do is to look at the customer, the comp, the donuts and the money. I don't have the friggin time to 'observe' around. If you got the balls to lecture me, why don't you just go and tell him off yourself. Arsehole.

And after my 36 hours of training [flooded with monsterous customers] I'll only get rm 180. =.=" [not included lunch $$]
